THE POWER OF THE CHAKRAS:
A Workbook for Higher Consciousness
was many years in the making. Way back in the last millenium
we did a series of classes and each class focused on the energy
of each individual chakra. After the series was completed,
the chapters were titled:
THE TEMPLE OF THE SOUL - root chakra (reproductive glands)
CONFRONTING FEAR - second chakra (adrenal glands)
RECLAIMING YOUR SOVEREIGNTY - third chakra (suprarenal glands)
DIVINE CONSCIOUSNESS: HEALING THE WOUND - fourth chakra (thymus gland)
PARADISE AND BEYOND - fifth chakra (thyroid gland)
BEYOND JUDGMENT: PIERCING THE VEIL.- sixth chakra (pineal gland)
TRANSCENDING TIME AND SPACE - seventh chakra (pituitary gland)
COMING FULL CIRCLE - eighth chakra (the entire glandular system)
Long before it was a book, it was the transcripts of those classes
in a booklet stapled together and what I noticed was that those
who had the booklet referred to it again and again. Clearly, there
was something in that material that was helping people progress
along their spiritual path.
The thing is, what I didn't expect was that having expanded upon
those long-ago classes and forming the book into an interactive
workbook, I would find myself being compelled to further refine
my energy field. This shows up, most recently, when the drumbeat
of social media and the news plays on my nervous system.
Most of the media we consume is designed to prompt
addiction. We've all heard the terms 'to get eyeballs' or 'getting
butts in seats'. We are the 'eyeballs' and 'butts' that every media
source is trying to compel. To do this, research has
become more and more sophisticated and, thus, has provided
the means for news producers and social media companies to
recognize that if you can hook an individual using the energy
of the lower chakras (sexual titillation, fear and the desire to be in
control) you have the ability to hook them again
and again using the data provided, mostly unwittingly by the
individual, which then sets the algorithm (a fancy word for rules
that a computer uses to identify what YOU are likely to get
addicted to).
Because I have been meditating for close to fifty years, I know
the difference between being calm and centered versus being
activated or jangled. In Solano's words, allowing oneself to be
imbalanced and off center is being 'called out by the
Soul to one's curriculum. My curriculum is (among other things)
to awaken. I find that the moment that I notice calm is ebbing
and I am beginning to worry or fear, if I will pull back from the
stimulus that is activating me, I have the opportunity to
CHOOSE AGAIN. It is then that I notice
that I can choose to be calm, balanced, loving and confident
that the Universe is ALWAYS working on my behalf, in short,
accessing a deep sense of well-being, OR, I can choose to be
pushed around and manipulated by the ILLUSION that the world
is most certainly falling apart.
In the context of the chakras, what I was thinking about that
prompted this post, is that even if I am activated in the lower
chakras, as long as I bring awareness to the present moment, I
can place my attention on whichever chakra is activated and I
can USE the energy of that activation and CHANNEL that energy
upward.
The ancient sages identified subtle energy channels that run
throughout the body which, in this regard, are far more important
to focus upon than are the glands, hormones and nerves. If you feel
your adrenal glands overstimulated, rather than acting out of
habit and becoming irritated or angry (fight) or going into
motion - eating, cleaning, working, or literally running - (flight),
you can move into that energy in the second chakra, breathing into it,
and beginning to build a bridge in your mind's eye between the
second chakra and the third chakra. Imagine the energy in that
chakra beginning to spiral up out of the adrenal glands and into
the solar plexus. But don't stop there, let the energy from there
flow up into your heart, encouraging it to open. And from there
to the throat. You will likely begin to feel a fullness or a gentle,
pleasant throbbing there. And spiraling further up into your brain,
feeding the pineal gland and energizing the pituitary gland. And,
finally you will feel an opening in the crown of your head reconnecting
you with the SOURCE of all that is.
This simple process can be done anytime, anywhere and,
in fact, should be (for your health and well-being). It is your best
means of balancing your chakra system but, moreover, keeping
your body and your brain healthy. The subtle energy channels
which run throughout your body, delivering energy that you have
refined up into your brain helps with the process of overwriting
old programs in the central nervous system and that, ultimately,
contributes to keeping your brain in top form - bright, sharp, clear
and continually making new neurons.
I wouldn't recommend it if I isn't something that I do on a daily
basis and receive great benefit from.
Peace and Blessings!
